Heather Blitz and Paragon. . .Going to London

By Eliza

Lately, dressage has been in the news mainly as it pertains to Anne Romney.  But here is the latest story in this discipline:  rider Heather Blitz and her horse Paragon are heading to London as the reserve pair to represent America in the Olympics.

The hows and whys of being a reserve selection are all beautifully explained for you at Jennifer O. Bryant's The London Eye.  A sample:  "Theirs is a wonderful story: Heather was present when Paragon was foaled, and she has been the sole owner and trainer of the now nine-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding. Paragon is a rangy and leggy drink of water, just like his rider, with wonderfully expressive movement and a unique swanlike neck."  Check out the whole story here.
