A Horse Of A Different Color

. . .and I am far from the only person using that phrase. But this is a fun story to follow: the almost white racehorse, Hansen, whose owner wanted to dye his mane and tail blue before a big race. Racing authorities said it would be too undignified. . .what do you think? Click here.

  1. So in the story the owner says "not too many people had had a top horse that is this white" -- is there really some correlation between color/speed or is this a breed/speed issue (I say knowing so little about horses other than that there are 5 white horses on our plastic placemat set and remembering that no horse is white (or is that polar bears). And why not dye the tail blue -- is that less dignified than a braid or a ribbon?
